Leaps and Bounds with Rests in Between

When kids are learning to read, they make lots of leaps and bounds with rests in between. Think of stairsteps. The step itself is the rest and the rise is an example of a leap and bound.

Most people do this when learning just about anything. Have you seen a child make a break through? You can almost see the lightbulb shine above their heads.

This means understanding what strategies to provide at the right time is so important to supporting a reader when he is ready to jump!

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
