We couldn't properly identify this beetle, so we sent a letter to the Bugman at
Dear Bugman,
We found this weird beetle after it fell from our roof and landed in our gravel driveway in September.
The wings are green and shiny. Its middle section is orangish, yellowish, golden, and reddish. the entire top side is iridescent. It has 6 legs. Its face is has splotches. It was just a little bigger than a quarter.
Do you know what it is?

Yah! We heard from the bug guy! It is a rainbow scarab.
That is one pretty beetle, how cool that it is a rainbow scarab!
